Prabhas Biography: Age, Family, Net Worth, Movies & Career

Prabhas biography searches often mix confirmed facts with old release dates, exaggerated salary claims, and recycled marriage rumours. Prabhas was born on 23 October 1979 in Chennai, and he is 46 years old on 24 September 2026. His career now spans from Eeswar in 2002 to pan-India films such as Baahubali, Salaar, Kalki 2898 AD, and The Raja Saab.

This refreshed profile separates verified career facts from estimates that cannot be independently proved. It also corrects several outdated claims from the older page, including references to Salaar and Kalki 2898 AD as future releases.

Prabhas Biography: Quick Facts

The basic details in this Prabhas biography are consistent across major entertainment profiles. India Today also lists his full name, birth date, parents, debut, and early career milestones in its Prabhas profile.

Prabhas Biography: Early Life and Family

Prabhas comes from a Telugu film family, although his career was not automatic. His father, Uppalapati Surya Narayana Raju, worked as a film producer. His uncle Krishnam Raju became a major Telugu star and later entered politics.

Prabhas is the youngest of three children. He has an elder brother, Prabodh, and an elder sister, Pragathi. The family traces its roots to the Mogalthur area of present-day Andhra Pradesh.

Profiles of his education consistently place part of his schooling in Bhimavaram and Chennai. They also report engineering studies in Hyderabad. However, public profiles differ on some college-level details, so this Prabhas biography avoids presenting disputed educational claims as more certain than they are.

Prabhas has also spoken about being shy before entering cinema. In an interview, he recalled wondering how anyone could perform in front of large groups and bright lights. That makes his later shift into large-scale star vehicles more striking.

How Did Prabhas Start His Acting Career?

Prabhas began acting with Eeswar in 2002, but his first major commercial breakthrough came with Varsham in 2004. The romantic action film gave him wider recognition in Telugu cinema. He then strengthened his action-star image with S.S. Rajamouli’s Chatrapathi in 2005.

The early years were uneven, so his rise was gradual rather than instant. Films such as Bujjigadu, Billa, Darling, and Mr. Perfect helped him build a loyal audience. By the time Mirchi arrived in 2013, he was already one of Telugu cinema’s leading male stars.

That progression matters because many short profiles jump directly from his debut to Baahubali. A useful Prabhas biography should show the decade of commercial work that came before his national breakthrough.

Prabhas Biography: Movies and Career Milestones

Prabhas’s career changed permanently with S.S. Rajamouli’s two-part Baahubali saga. Baahubali: The Beginning reached cinemas in 2015, while Baahubali 2: The Conclusion followed in 2017. The films took a Telugu star to a much broader Indian and overseas audience.

After Baahubali, Prabhas moved almost entirely into expensive, multilingual projects. Saaho arrived in 2019, followed by the romance Radhe Shyam in 2022. His 2023 slate included Adipurush and Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire.

Kalki 2898 AD followed in June 2024 and placed him inside Nag Ashwin’s science-fiction world as Bhairava. Prabhas then appeared in Kannappa in 2025. His next lead release, Maruthi’s horror-comedy The Raja Saab, reached theatres on 9 January 2026.

This sequence also shows why the old article needed a major factual refresh. It called Kalki a 2023 film and still described Salaar as an upcoming release. Those errors are now removed from this Prabhas biography.

Prabhas Biography: Selected Filmography

The Prabhas biography timeline above focuses on major acting milestones rather than every cameo or re-release. Readers who want more context on his recent films can also see Movieshala’s Kalki 2898 AD review. For a wider industry view, the site’s pan-India cinema history explains why Baahubali mattered beyond one actor’s career.

What Awards Has Prabhas Won?

Prabhas has won major South Indian acting honours, but some online profiles mix his awards with awards won by his films. He won the Nandi Award for Best Actor for Mirchi. He also won a SIIMA Best Actor award for Baahubali 2: The Conclusion.

Filmfare nominated him for Best Actor in Telugu for major performances including the Baahubali films. Filmfare’s own archive lists his 2018 nomination for Baahubali 2.

One important correction belongs in any careful Prabhas biography. Baahubali: The Beginning won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film, but that was an award for the film and its credited makers. It was not an individual National Film Award for Prabhas’s acting.

What Is Prabhas’s Net Worth?

No reliable public filing confirms Prabhas’s current net worth, so treat any precise figure as an estimate. Many websites quote totals between roughly ₹300 crore and ₹500 crore. Those figures do not come from audited disclosures, so they are not established facts.

The strongest public earnings reference comes from historical reporting. Forbes India ranked Prabhas 22nd on its 2017 Celebrity 100 list. Later reporting on the 2019 list estimated his annual earnings at ₹35 crore and placed him 44th.

That does not mean his net worth was ₹35 crore. Annual earnings, movie remuneration, assets, taxes, and total personal wealth are different measures. This Prabhas biography therefore keeps those categories separate instead of turning media estimates into a false balance-sheet number.

A trustworthy Prabhas biography should apply the same caution to reports that he charges ₹100 crore or more per film. Such figures can include fixed fees, profit shares, or package deals. Unless a producer or contract confirms the amount, readers should treat the number as trade reporting rather than a verified salary.

For historical context, see Forbes India’s profile of Prabhas. It is useful because it clearly distinguishes ranking methodology from claims about personal net worth.

Is Prabhas Married?

Prabhas has not publicly confirmed a marriage through a reliable source. His team has denied past wedding rumours, while Prabhas has repeatedly kept his personal life private. That makes speculation about a spouse or relationship unsuitable for a factual biography.

In March 2025, his team told India Today that reports about an imminent wedding were false. Rumours continue to circulate, so this Prabhas biography lists his marital status only at the level supported by reliable reporting. It does not repeat unverified claims about partners.

Prabhas Biography: Upcoming Movies and Confirmed Projects

Prabhas has several active projects, but their timelines are not equally firm. The most important current correction is Fauzi. Producer Y Ravi Shankar confirmed on 21 September 2026 that the film would miss its planned 3 December 2026 release. By 24 September, the makers had not announced a new date.

For this Prabhas biography, only project details with recent sourcing are treated as current. Spirit, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, currently carries a worldwide theatrical date of 5 March 2027. The makers reaffirmed that date in 2026. Movieshala also has a separate Prabhas Spirit update tracking that production.

Nag Ashwin said on 23 September 2026 that regular shooting for Kalki 2898 AD Part 2 would begin in October 2026. He also said the team hoped to finish shooting by the middle of 2027. That is a production target, not a confirmed theatrical release date.

Salaar: Part 2 – Shouryaanga Parvam is also moving forward. Reports in August 2026 said Prashanth Neel and Hombale Films had entered pre-production. However, the makers have not announced a dependable release date, so readers should ignore fixed 2026 release claims.

Prabhas Biography: Pan-India Career Impact

The most important shift in Prabhas’s career was not simply becoming more famous after Baahubali. His films also helped normalise a release model in which Telugu productions open across multiple Indian languages on the same day. That changed the scale expected from star-led Telugu projects.

His post-Baahubali choices show both the power and risk of that model. Bigger budgets create huge opening potential, but they also raise the break-even bar. As a result, star power can protect an opening weekend without guaranteeing long-term theatrical success.

That distinction is useful when reading any Prabhas biography. His career is not a straight line of hits. It is a case study in how Indian stardom changed from regional box-office strength to multilingual event cinema.

Prabhas Biography: What the Old Profile Got Wrong

The previous page had several serious timeline errors. It labelled Kalki as a 2023 film, described Salaar as upcoming, and later claimed Salaar would release in late 2026. In reality, Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire opened in December 2023, while Kalki 2898 AD opened in June 2024.

The old update also claimed an Adipurush 2 release for December 2026 and a new S.S. Rajamouli collaboration. Reliable current sources do not support those claims. This refresh removes those claims rather than softening or repeating them.

Another problem involved awards. The old text implied that Prabhas personally received the National Film Award won by Baahubali: The Beginning. This refreshed Prabhas biography separates an actor’s awards from awards given to a film.

Prabhas: Career Summary

Prabhas built his Telugu career over more than a decade before Baahubali changed his scale. Since then, he has remained one of the most visible stars working across India’s multilingual theatrical market. His filmography includes successes, disappointments, experiments, and several projects still in production.

The clearest way to read this Prabhas biography is to separate confirmed facts from fan-page speculation. His birth date, family background, major credits, awards, and current projects have reliable sourcing. Exact wealth, private relationships, and unannounced release dates need far more caution.
